2026 PROGRAMMES

Join us in Arusha, Tanzania for one of our immersive art residencies—designed to support focused creative time, cultural exchange, and the freedom to shape your own experience. Each residency blends studio practice, local engagement, and optional excursions to spark new work and new ways of seeing.

🗓️ 2026 Residency Schedule

We offer four residency sessions per year, each lasting 2 months. Artists are welcome to apply for the full session or request a shorter stay—we’re flexible and happy to accommodate special dates or extensions when possible.

At the moment each residency is limited to 10 artists to ensure a focused, intimate, and supportive creative environment.

💸 Fees & Costs

We aim to keep the residency accessible and affordable while providing meaningful, high-value experiences for artists of all backgrounds.

  • Residency Fee: $100 USD per person, per week

    (paid upon acceptance to secure your spot)

  • Accommodation (Full Board): $50 USD per person, per day
    Includes a private room and three delicious home-cooked meals daily

➡️ All meals and drinks outside the residency are at the artist’s own expense, if they occasionally choose to dine out.

➡️ Excursions & Workshops are optional and priced separately—starting from $10 USD for in-town trips and increasing based on distance, activity type, entry fees, and group size. Shared travel helps reduce costs.

  • Certificate of Participation upon completion

  • End-of-Residency Exhibition

🎭 End-of-Residency Exhibition

At the close of each residency session, we host a curated group exhibition where artists are invited to showcase the works created during their stay.

This event is open to the local community, collectors, galleries, and visiting guests, offering residents a platform to share their creative outcomes, gain exposure, and engage in dialogue about their process.

Participating artists have the opportunity to offer their works for sale, helping them recover part of their residency costs while building meaningful connections within Tanzania’s growing art scene.

✈️ Travel to Tanzania

Artists will need to arrange their travel to Tanzania. The nearest international airport is Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) located approximately 1 hour from the residency site in Arusha.

We offer airport pickup upon request:

  • $40 USD (if arranged through the residency)

  • $50 - $60 USD (standard local taxi rate)

Most visitors will require a Tourist Visa to enter Tanzania, though some nationalities are exempt.

  • Visa fees are typically $100 USD

  • Visas can be obtained through a Tanzanian embassy, online (eVisa), or on arrival.

🧾 Funding Support

If you’re applying for grants or institutional funding in your home country, we’re happy to assist. Once accepted into the program, we can provide official letters of recommendation or residency confirmation to support your funding applications.

🎨 Artist Materials

We recommend artists bring their preferred tools and materials, as those provided by the residency may not match your usual quality, medium, or working style. While we offer a selection of art supplies for general use, bringing your own ensures you can work comfortably, confidently, and without interruption.
